I’m getting up at a ridiculous hour tomorrow morning to beat my fat(ter than I used to be) self against the pavement for 6.2 miles. That’s right, it’s Peachtree time. Have I trained? No. But that won’t stop me from running in the nasty heat and cursing myself every step for not training. After I get my sweaty self all showered and junk, it’s off to Ronnie Davis’ house for a BBQ and hangout time. Then it’s on to Sugarloaf Country Club to launch their fireworks show for the third year in a row – it’s a big show this year and should be TONS of fun! Saturday involves hanging out with friends and another big fireworks show.
Don’t forget as we all do our thing to take a moment to remember how thankful we should be of our freedoms in this country – including freedom of speech, freedom of press (even though I hate CNN and Fox) and freedom of religion. We are truly blessed people and we forget it too easily – thank the Lord for his provision in our lives.
What are you doing for the Fourth? Fireworks? Pounding against the asphalt? Sitting in the lawn chair and throwing back a few cold ones?
Whatever it is, take care and stay safe.
Colin
