Vacation Bound!

August 9th, 2008 by colin.ake Leave a reply »

Finally the summer end is here and we are off for a week in the North Carolina mountains! I’m looking forward to sleeping in, reading, and enjoying the outdoors. Can’t wait to get some photography in.

We will be just east of Asheville in Old Fort – we rented a house on the top of the mountain for the week. We’ll have some great sunsets to look forward to. And I just found out that we’ll be at the mountain house during the perseid meteor shower…. So we should have some great opportunities to shoot some sweet pictures of that. In addition, I brought my flash equipment so I hope to have some sweet pictures of the family and such.

I have several books with me… War of Words, Campus CEO, and Naked Conversations, a book on corporate blogging. I’ll post some pictures as I take them throughout the week.

We’re in Franklin, NC at the Motor Company Grill. Time for some great American food. I’m in and out of cell coverage so i’ll blog when I can.

Take care, y’all.

Colin

  1. Enjoy the vacation. Have you read Groundswell? (It's about social media in the enterprise.) Have fun in the mountains – it's beautiful up there.

Hi Colin! I like your blog, discovered it through Triiibes, more specifically the Atlanta suuub-triiibe. Good to find other undergrads on there, I graduate from Emory in 2010 with a degree in business. Looks like we have a lot of similar interests, I've been reading a lot of books on social media lately (including Groundswell, which like your friend above me I also strongly recommend). Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and hope you have a blast vacationing!

  3. I have not read Groundswell – I'll look it up though. I'm enjoying the mountains – it's beautiful up here.

  4. Hey Georgina –

Thanks for dropping by! It is good to know there are other undergrads on Triiibes – I was a little worried it wasn't for people our age, but it looks interesting. I need to spend more time on there as I joined and left town for vacation. How are you finding it useful? I'd be interested in finding out how other people are harnessing it.

I'll check out Groundswell for sure. Thanks for the recommendation.

    Colin
