Wedding Photography: Lauren and Pace

July 17th, 2008 by colin.ake Leave a reply »

I wanted to post some pictures from the wedding I shot last weekend – Lauren is my cousin and I was thrilled to see her marry Pace, a great guy.  It was a fun wedding to be a part of and I am thrilled to have some great pictures from the ceremony.  Without further ado, check out the first glimpse of Lauren and Pace’s wedding pictures.

Lauren starts the morning right: A newspaper and Coca Cola

Lauren’s hair isn’t done yet, don’t worry.

Pace starts out the morning at Starbucks with his groomsmen.

Well the hair is done.  Time for some makeup!

Still going…

Those black beads are rosepetal beads from Lauren’s great-grandmother’s bouquet.

Pace kissing his Bride!

Lauren walking to the reception with the two men in her life.

Pace decided to smash the cake in Lauren’s face!

Lauren getting a kiss goodbye from her Dad as she heads off with Pace on their honeymoon.

The wedding was awesome – it was great to be a part of it and I had an absolute blast shooting it!  Best wishes to Lauren and Pace on their honeymoon!

if the lens was "opened up all the way to 1.4 – 30 minutes ago", how does that effect something that happened over the weekend? Time, space, reality… what then? why air?

    Nice work Colin!

Bloody awesome camera work my friend — I've got to ask, what kind of camera/lens setup are you using?

  5. Thanks a bunch Zeeg – I had a blast with it. I shoot two Canon 30D bodies – and I shot a 24-70mm ƒ2.8L lens on one body and a 24mm ƒ1.4 on the other body – both wide open. The 1.4 is AMAZING – most of these shots are with that lens. The buttery backgrounds are a product of the aperture being opened up all the way to 1.4.

  6. You're a nut, Jon. Thanks for dropping by and thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it!

Good work my friend! I see the power of the L indeed! I must acquire one!

  8. Thanks for dropping by David. L series lenses are amazing – let me know sometime you may want it and I'll loan you either the 24-70 ƒ2.8 or the 70-200 ƒ2.8.

Great photos Colin…I came for the Jott article. Thanks for distracting me. :-D

  10. I think it was about $45 for the weekend – Friday after 4 PM, has to be back in Monday morning by 9:30. For $30 a day it's not bad!

  11. Jon U says:

Hmmm….24 L eh? Looks great! How much was it to rent?

  12. Lauren and Pace says:

Beautiful Colin…can't wait to see them all. We love you!

  13. You bet Jason – glad you enjoyed 'em. I'll have some pictures of a car tomorrow or the day after, hopefully.

  14. Glad you enjoyed the pics! I'll get you the other pics ASAP!
