A Grand Entrance

Helped set up and strike a fireworks show at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock this past Saturday. It’s the smallest of the three to four shows I’ll be working on this year, but got some sweet pictures.  A couple of these are courtesy my lovely girlfriend Annie.  Thanks for shooting the other camera for me :)

More shots after the jump.

Ben lighting the opening set.

The red light is from the flares used to touch off the fireworks.

The glow from the flares is apparent in between bombs. Ronnie and Josh did the vast majority of the show.

The show was shot from on top of the dump - thus the broken down tractors.
You can see the tubes in this setup. 3, 4, 5, and even some 6 inch mortars.

When the camera isn’t expecting this much light, you get a few blown-out highlights.

The Grand Finale doing it’s thing.  For this setup you string all the fuses together and run after you light it.

Hope everyone enjoyed the glimpse into the first show of the year.  I’ve got another show Friday and a third Saturday, so check back for more awesome pictures - each show is unique!  Friday’s is twice as big and on a big lake, and Saturday’s is almost twice this big.  Once again, big thanks to Annie for shooting the other camera!  Let me know if you like the shots or if you have any other thoughts - always love hearing your comments!
