SB 08

Filed Under (Chatter) by colin.ake on 21-03-2008

Spring Break is nearly over, and I’m reporting in.  To kick everything off, I helped my roommate Lance - his parents were moving.  Just moving stuff in a truck, Friday through Monday.  Monday afternoon I got to hang out with Nathan Fowler - an old buddy of mine who I don’t see nearly enough.

Tuesday was fun - Dad and I went up to north Georgia for some waterfall photography.  We hiked to Duke’s Creek Falls and Anna Ruby Falls.  Both great falls, got some good pictures out of all that.  I’ll post some over on the photoblog at some point.

Wednesday I filled out my degree petition (I graduate in 8 months??) and drove to Mississippi to see my buddy Matt Parker, who has graduated from the Air Force Academy and is stationed in Columbus Mississippi for flight school.  He starts pilot training in May.  We played basketball Wednesday, some golf Thursday (neither of us did well, but my back nine was halfway decent).

Today I’m driving back from Mississippi to Atlanta, repacking, and heading out for Florida with the BravesBlast crew.  That’d include Jonathan, Charles, and Lindsay.  We’re hitting up the beach for a little bit, but going to two baseball games over the weekend - Saturday @ the Nationals’ park, and Sunday at Disney’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando.  Should be fun, check BravesBlast out to see our updates from there.

Have a good one - take care of yourself.

Designer Mud Boots?

Filed Under (Chatter) by colin.ake on 04-03-2008

One thing I don’t get is the proliferation of designer mud/rain boots on college campuses.  The typical girl has a pair of these - either flowered or patterned rubber boots they wear on rainy days to keep the water off their feet.

I understand the concept, I had a pair of boots like that when I was a kid at the grandparents to play in the lake.  I just never thought they’d catch on so that almost everyone has a pair.

Off to troop through the rain in my NON rubber boots.  Hope all is well for everyone.
